Q1: What types of seals are used in the frameless doors?
A1a: On the bottom of the door there is a clear polycarbonate drip rail with a dual wipe.
A1b: On the perimeter of the glass panels are is a clear polycarbonate bulb seal that is compressed into the wall to take up imperfections in the tile and then a small bead of silicone is applied.
A1c: The seal between the door and the surface it closes against is a 180 clear polycarbonate strike jamb or a clear polycarbonate L angle.
Q2: How are the pieces of glass joined together?
A2: In most circumstances we actually bond the two pieces of glass together with a very high bonding agent, which is clear and unconstructive view.
Q3: What different types of products are out there to make cleaning my new frameless shower door easier?
A3: All of our glass comes coated with a product called TPC (trans-polymer coating), which is best described as a Rain-X type product and needs to be applied every 3 to 4 months. This allows minimum soap scum buildup. There is also another product called Shower Guard, which is a factory applied coating on the glass that becomes permanent during the tempering process.
Q4: How soon can I use my new frameless shower door after its been installed?
A4: We require no use of the shower or introduction of any liquids to the door for a 48 hour period. This is to allow for all sealants to cure.
Q5: What type of polish is on the edge work of the glass?
A5: All edge work is a furniture grade diamond high polish.
Q6: What makes Eagle Glassworks so unique?
A6: We produce truly frameless enclosures. We do not use any channel or headers on our frameless enclosures. Everything is cut to fit your custom opening; there is no hiding of imperfections behind a messy piece of channel. All of our frameless enclosures use ½” high polished glass panels, which once it is tempered it is 4 times the strength and as strong as a 2” thick piece of glass. The doors are constructed of 3/8” high polish glass. In essence we are building you a one of a kind piece of furniture that will last throughout the years.
Q7: What is my hardware made out of?
A7: All hardware is made out of solid brass. The hinges are also made out of solid brass with stainless steel pins, self closing from 30 degrees, self-centering up to 5 degrees.
Q8: What type of finished are available?
A8: There are approximately 30 standard finishes and another 20 more exotic finishes to choose from. These colors are all plated over the top of the solid brass with a lifetime finish.
